As summer begins to fade into autumn we reach the start of yet another hockey season. It’s time to reflect on what has gone by and look forward to 2016-17. On a very wet miserable day Slazengers went out on the attack as usual, Wanderers keeper and defence had their work cut out and managed to keep many shots out but Slazengers managed to get 3 in. Arriving at a windy cold Leeds with 11 players to their 16 it looked like it was going to be a challenge. Slazengers went out hard as always but the first 10 minutes saw Leeds looking like the stronger team. Slazengers settled into their game and then took control. Claire Dunstan was the first to find the back board giving Slazengers the lead. Slazengers defended well when Leeds had the ball with some excellent saves and clearances from short corners. For the second weekend in a row Slazengers had 2 games. The game started in a cold, wet and rainy Hull but Slazengers went out hard and had most of the possession and control. By half time Claire Dunstan and Naomi Frith had scored 2 goals each and Hull had little chance on goal.
