A double header of hard away games was on the menu for Slaz this weekend. After being soundly beaten by Boston Spa at home, Slaz were not expecting an easy ride and losing key player Katie Firth within the first few minutes of the game did not help their cause. Slaz knew that they had to beat Halifax to avoid a possible bottom three place this week. Although Halifax had been beaten soundly by Slaz the first game of the season, they had some good results under their belt and an easy game was by no means guaranteed. It's a long long time since Slaz played a match without even getting one short corner - however this is what happened at Weetwood on Saturday. With Training cancelled on Thursday perhaps Slaz were a little unprepared, however Leeds Ladies' top of the League position was completely justified by their performance on the day.
