Slazenger U10s Girls A made a good start to their season with two wins from five in the first tournament of the new campaign. The team got off to a bright start as Elvie Johnstone scored the winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Ben Rhydding in the opening match. Slazenger picked up their second win with a 4-0 victory over York B. Barrass boost for Slaz' SLAZENGER U10s had a mixed bag of results at the Huntington tournament near York at the weekend. Their first opponents Rotherham started strongly, but Ralph Toon kept their attackers at bay with some excellent defensive play until halfway through the encounter when they took a decisive lead. Slazenger U12s took part in a series of tournament games and although they did not manage a win were pleased with their progress during the day. In the first match, Slaz started strongly against a skilled Halifax team, producing a well struck goal from Chris Wood, but Halifax hit back to win.
