We travelled to Harrogate for fixtures against local rivals, Wakefield, Bradford and Doncaster with a squad of 14 players. Although the weather was cold and windy, we were spared the rain/sleet that other squads and training at Slazenger encountered. Slazenger Men’s 2nd Team hosted Doncaster 5s and were expecting a close match against the normally well drilled Doncaster outfit but it turned out to be a big win for Slaz beating the visitors 6-0. Slaz pilled the pressure early on in the game and were rewarded with a goal ten minutes in. Matt Green passed the ball down the left wing to Simon Randall who ran into the ‘D’ and slotted the ball passed the keeper at his near post. Slazenger's acquitted themselves well in this top of the table clash against high flying Doncaster. Both sides were disciplined, contained some skillful players and managed to keep their shape, working hard in both attack and defence. Slazenger Boys U10's travelled to Pocklington School, newly promoted, and ready to make waves in division 2. In the end they proved more than a match. With most players well under 10 years old, they are becoming a force to be rekoned with!
