Slazenger Thirds were missing five regulars for their trip to take on Dinnington's first string, and the 4-1 score line reflects this deficiency though it fails to do justice to the visitors' performance. Slazenger Seconds failed to hit top form on grass at Dinnington, but did enough to secure three points with a 2-2 draw and with it Yorkshire League Promotion. Slazenger took the lead with a well-worked Mark Swinden goal, but Dinnington hit back to level before the break and nosed in front with a second just after the interval.
