"There is only one rule at Slaz - you don't lose to Wakefield" were the words of Dave Ellam, ringing in the ears of the Slazenger team as they appoached the bouncy blue College Grove pitch. Slaz were determined not to easily let the memory of their recent win against Chapeltown slip and started the game strongly, chasing down and pressing the Wakefield defence. Their hard work was rewarded when they took the lead mid way through the first half, youngster Hetty Walker and player of the match … [Read more...] about Report: 01-02-2014 – Ladies 1st’s (2) vs. (2) Wakefield 3rd’s

Surprisingly, for a team lying second in the table, it was the home team who didn't look up for this fixture. Rain had started falling heavily just before the warm up and Lincoln didn't appear on the pitch until just before the push back. Straight from the start Slazengers got about the opposition, denying them … [Read more...] about Report: 25-01-2014 – Mens 3rd’s (3) vs. (1) Lincoln Roses 4th’s

However Chapeltown, despite their position at the bottom of the league were determined to go down fighting and held a buoyant Slazenger team for the first 20 minutes, despite clearly struggling and had a few attacks on goal which the … [Read more...] about Report: 25-01-2014 – Ladies 1st’s (5) vs. (0) Chapeltown 1st’s
