Slazengers mens 2'nd team made it 3 wins from 3 with a well earned 6-2 win against Scarborough. Slazengers started brightly and immediately put Scarborough under pressure with the keeper making a number of good saves to keep the scores level. It pressure paid off however when Simon Randall converted after good work from Dan Atkinson down the right wing. Slazenger mens 3rd's recorded their first win of the season. After a disrupted season, the team showed form which had been building over the last few weeks. Leeds attacked quickly in the opening minutes of the game, however Slazenger absorbed the pressure; full backs Dave Gascoigne and Paul Johnson worked cleaned up well. Slazenger worked themselves into the game, with some hard work across the midfield; Matt Banks, Rob Whawell and Andy Fisher particularly battled hard. In a very close mid table battle Slazengers were tenacious pinning down the Rotherham side and reducing their opportunities. The midfield work really hard in both defence and attack against a strong adult based opposition. Slazengers visited Wakefield at College Grove on Sunday. With a change in line up from recent weeks, Slazengers gave Claire Dunstan a run out who managed to score the opening goal for Slazengers building their confidence which led to another goal shortly afterwards.
