The under 14 girls played some great hockey in this weekends tournament at Darton College. A brilliant end to end game against Rotherham saw the girls leading 1:0 for most part, thanks to a well worked goal finished off by Leah Pearman and great work from Goal keeper Eleanor Cramp (on her debut). This weekend, there is a slight change of plans to usual. Sunday 8th November – Schools Tournament On Sunday 8th November, Slazengers will be hosting a tournament against local schools. These have been receiving coaching over the last term and it’s a chance to put it to the test against U10 & U12 teams from the club! Slazengers Ladies first team made it a hat-trick of wins this week against Doncaster Ladies 2's. The surprisingly warm October weather made it a slow start, but Jessica Rudge scored the first goal thanks to some great team passing. Claire Dunstan was quick to follow with a strong hit to the bottom corner. Although 2-0 up at half time, the team were not stopping there. A Sunday fixture for Slazengers ladies 3s meant a home tie against Lincolnshire side Louth in the 1st round of the Yvonne Horner knockout cup. The first half saw both teams applying pressure in the opposition's half, but the Slazengers defence were impressive and stood firm. Slazengers Men's 2nd team entertained unbeaten league leaders Huddersfield Dragons 2'nds and came out with a resounding 5-0 victory. Slazengers started brightly and were determined to keep Huddersfield under pressure working hard across all areas of the pitch to deny Huddersfield time to settle.
