Slazenger Triumph To Secure Third Place

SLAZENGER won their penultimate Yorkshire League 2 game 2-0 over mid-tablers Normanby Park at Horbury to secure third place in the league.

Slazenger enjoyed the run out in a relaxed atmosphere knowing that their promotion hopes were out of their hands. With the pressure off, they produced a sparkling first-half performance and scored twice to underline their domination of the match.

Goalkeeper Lee hardly touched the ball as the defence shut out every attempt made by Normanby.

Man of the match Hutchinson didn’t put a foot wrong and his distribution from the back was first class.
Taylor swept in the opening goal after Webb had made a run across the top of the D before giving a scoring reverse pass.

Butel scored the second after recieving a cross from Chamberlain with his back to goal.

Slazenger are at Grimsby in the last league game on Saturday.
