Slazengers mens 2’nd team made it 3 wins from 3 with a well earned 6-2 win against Scarborough. Slazengers started brightly and immediately put Scarborough under pressure with the keeper making a number of good saves to keep the scores level. It pressure paid off however when Simon Randall converted after good work from Dan Atkinson down the right wing.
Ted Richardson made it 2 from a short corner before Randall found himself in acres of space and confidently fired home for his second. It wasn’t one way traffic however and Scarborough grabbed a lifeline after Slazengers failed to clear a short corner. Slazengers continued to press and won a penalty flick after a ball was illegally stopped on the line, Ben Graham stepped up to convert. There was still time for Richardson to grab his second again after some excellent right wing play from Atkinson to make it 5-1 at the break.
The second half was more even although Slazengers missed a number of opportunities which on another day could have found the net. Scarborough grabbed their second midway through the half with Slazengers hitting when Aidy Buckley rounded off a good team move for his first goal in 10 years. Dan Atkinson took the man of the match award for Slazengers.
