A win for the Slazenger ladies second team at home at the weekend left them 7th in the table.
Throughout the first half the home team played some excellent hockey, gaining most of the possession. They were rewarded for all the pressure early in the first half from an excellent goal from Alex Gilbert who had an excellent match. Shortly afterwards Natasha Wiper found the goal after some great teamwork with Stacey Binns.
Into the second half the home team again started off on the front foot with some great work in the midfield from Captain Nerys Rollinson and man of the match Charlotte Gunn. It didn’t take long before Slazengers took advantage of all the pressure as Daisy Gee Sanders scored her first of two goals from a short corner. The away team came back strong and scored two goals in quick succession which made for a tense finish.
The home team responded well as Lisa Minchella scored followed closely by Daisy and Natasha, who both scored two goals in the match. SLazengers were denied a seventh goal when a shot from Nerys was disallowed.
