Slaz’s newly promoted side were missing a few team members against last seasons demoted side, and struggled to perform to the higher standard shown by Hull.
Kingston applied heavy pressure and for 15 minutes Mark Swindon was the only player to cut through the tight net of Kingston.
Slaz got their stride and began to move the ball round looking good in parts. But the pressure from Kingston showed and Slaz conceded 2 goals in the first half.
Man of the Match Mark Swindon continued to excel and create good breaking chances for the Slaz forwards. Newcomers Mick Claes, Robin Brearton and Matt Stacey didn’t let the side down and put up good personal performances for this season. Jez Whawell also hassled the Kingston midfield well regaining possession of the ball several times from intangible positions.
Later on in the second half Mark Swindon scored Slaz’s only goal from a short corner, but Kingston had the game wrapped up at that point with a final score line of 4-1
