Slazenger went into Saturdays match looking to take their winning run into a 3rd week, only to suffer a 5-1 reversal to a clinical Roseberry side.
Slaz started brightly, with some fast flowing hockey. Good build up play fed Sarah Cooper for several close efforts. However Slaz overcommitted, with roseberry braking fast, outnumbering the home teams back line and defeating the keeper.
The second from Roseberry was equally as clinical. Another series of fast flowing passes opened space in the centre of the park for a shot on goal.
Minutes later, Slaz found an opening. Sarah Hobbs’ single handed effort from her own half found the net with a powerful strike
Coming out of the break, Slaz continued to press, with only a goal in it, the continued to be contested. However, some weak marking and fast breaks from the Roseberry outfit were enough to put the game beyond doubt with 3 more goals.
Slaz travel away to Durham University next week
