With a heavy loss the day before slazenger men’s 2nd team were hoping to get a result with a home match against bottom of the league Lincoln 3s. The home side won the match 7-2.Although Lincoln are bottom of the league they took the match to slaz who went behind after 10 minutes of end-to-end hockey. This however seemed to wake slaz up who reacted by creating more chances. And by half time Slaz were leading 3-1.The second half started as the first ended with slaz piling the pressure on the Lincoln defence, and were soon 5-1 up. The match then turned scrappy with a Lincoln player sent off for 5 mins for elbowing a player in the face. Slaz then had Matt Banks sent off for dissent. Slaz scored their sixth whist down to ten men.But with 10 minutes to go another slaz player was sent off also for dissent and Lincoln scored their second. But dispite the lack of discipline slaz managed to finish on a high with scoring their seventh with the last touch of the match. Byron Dean got man of the match and scored a hat trick, John Sykes scored two goals, and Matt Banks and James Walker scored one each.
Next Saturday Slaz play promotion challengers Chapeltown 3s at home.
