Slazengers mens first team new they were in for a tough time against Lincoln Roses second team having lost 3-0 earlier in the season but in the end were disappointed to come away with only a 2-2 draw.
Both teams had some good possession in the first half and it was up to Richard Tuddenham to break the deadlock with a fierce strike from the top of the ‘D’. Lincoln weren’t to be denied however and equalised quickly to go into half time level.
The second half was a similar affair with both teams playing some good hockey, Adam Drake battled well in midfield and Dan Perry attacked well down the right wing and it was following an attack down the right that Slazengers took the lead again, the ball breaking to Tuddenham for him to smash home his second.
Slazengers continued to press and could easily have doubled their lead only to see the final pass go begging or the Lincoln keeper make a good save. It was Lincoln who had the last laugh though, equalising in the final 10 minutes.
Adam Drake took the man of the match award for Slazengers.
