This was a top of the table clash where a win from this game could swing who wins the one promotion place. The pressure was on for both sides and you could tell alot was a stake with the physicalness of the game. Slazengers opened the scoring with goals from Sarah Hobbs and Holly Tyers. Doncaster didn’t let Slazengers rest at this and put alot of pressure on the Defence and finally capitalised by Half Time bring the score to 2 all.
Second half started very much like the first with lots of pressure at both ends, Jessica Rudge of Slazengers managed to bring Slazengers back in the lead with another followed from Defender Kerry Inman-Rollin from a well executed short corner route. Slazengers were then leading 4- 2.
With a minute to go Doncaster got awarded a flick from the ball hitting Defender Donna Simpson foot on the line and Slazenger keeper Eleanor Townend could not quite keep the ball from slipping under her arm.
Final score was 4 – 3 to Slazengers and they increased there lead at the top of the table to 7 points with a massive 60 goal difference. Defender Donna Simpson got the Slazenger Player of the Match from her hard work to keep the first team Doncaster players at bay.
