The game was scrappy throughout with Slazengers struggling to play the fluent hockey they have been playing this year and it was left to the quick thinking of Jack Kitchen to open the scoring with an excellent reverse stick strike after the Leeds defense seemed to stand still expecting a whistle. Slazengers were controlling the possession without creating anything and Leeds got back into it just before half time following a quick break.
Slazengers started the second half again with the majority of the ball but failed to find the end product and it wasn’t until midway through the second half that Slazengers took the lead again, Ben Graham found himself in the right place to convert at the far post following good work from Adam Drake. Slazengers continued to press and grabbed the third late on, Graham getting his second after an excellent move down the right finishing off with Paul Wiper beating two players and squaring for Graham to tap in. Jack Kitchen took the man of the match award for Slazengers.
