Slazenger Ladies Hockey First Team put in an extra special performance this week to ensure two wins in two matches. The team performance this week against a team that we were beaten by in the pre season friendly, was extra special, everyone put in the effort and capitalised on every challenge. For the first time slazengers showed ‘passion on the pitch’, we were a ‘team’ from the onset, no individualism, just a pure team effort.
Andrea Wallace delivered in midfield, the distribution was a key part of the teams success. On the wings we had Katie Firth and Sarah Hobbs that provided us with lots of attacking opportunities.
Slazengers dominated throughout the game and it appeared the opposition had lost interest as the goals for slazengers just kept rolling in with one being unfairly disallowed at the start of the game.
The final result being 3-1 to Slazengers was a true reflection on a very one-sided game by the home side. Katie Firth took the man of the match title, which was well deserved and also took one of the goal scoring opportunities. Coach Steve Wood was over the moon with the score line and the hard work put in by the whole team.
