Five star Tim Carr steered Slazenger seconds to a stunning 9-4 success over Leeds. Richard Hutchins opened the scoring after just three minutes with Carr doubling the lead before sloppy defending let Leeds in to level at 2-2. Carr and Hutchins restored Slazenger’s two-goal advantage with Leeds rallying again before the break to trail 4-3.
Carr completed his hat-trick after the Horbury men had weathered the early second-half storm. Hutchins netted his third with Carr taking the score out to 7-3.
And after Leeds had pegged back a fourth, Jack Mumford marked his return to action with a goal with man of the match Carr wrapping things up with his fifth of the match.
