Slazenger U10 Boys travelled to Huntington, York in the Yorkshire Youth Hockey League and faced some tough opposition.
Slazenger started the first game against Leeds strongly with Isaac Fisher opening the scoring after using a reverse stick with great control to pick up a fine pass from James Bennett.
Bennett made it two soon after with a solo effort before Leeds pulled one back and went on to level the match with seconds remaining.
The next game was a 1-0 defeat to a physically dominant Kirklees. The score was kept down thanks to some fine defence from Joe Dransfield.
In a scrappy match against Rotherham, debutant Sam Dransfield scored the only goal for the victory.
Slazenger were unlucky to lose their penultimate game against Doncaster to a second goal in the last minute after Jenson Brook had scored from a free hit by player of the tournament Bennett.
The final game was a draw with Driffield after Jordan Driffield’s heroics allowed Jenson Brook to break and release Fisher to score.
