In the third of five tournaments to be held this season Slazenger U10’s played in the second division for the first time after good results moved them up.
It was a promising start with a 2-0 win against Chapeltown’s B side, with goals from Henry Moore and Daniel Perry.
But it was a defeat in the second game against Leeds despite Adam Driver and Jake Barras’ attempts on goal.
It was the first competitive tournament for half of the Slazenger squad and in the remaining three games, their inexperience showed.
Thomas Kent and Tom Stephenson worked hard in the third, but could not stop Ben Rhydding winning 4-0.
The fourth game finished 2-0 to driffield and in the final game against Chapeltown’s A team, Slazenger were well beaten by a strong side.
