slazenger got back to winning ways with a well-deserved victory over a strong Sunderland side.
Despite early home pressure the Sunderland ‘keeper kept Slazenger out with some fine saves and it was the visitors who capitalised to move into a 2-0 lead before Whittle pulled a goal back just before half time to give Slazenger hope.
As the second half started Sunderland added their third of the day, but Slazenger showed great spirit, with Whittle adding another two to his tally and Webb and Thornicroft going on to add two more goals to complete a fightback to remember and three points in the bag.
Slazenger firsts travel to Sheffield Bankers this weekend for a North East Division 2 match.
