Slazenger ended the season on a dissapointing note, conceding two late goals in their defeat against Gateshead. The Wakefield based side started well, but conceded a goal against the run of play.
They battled back, though and equalised through Kev Windler. They continued to press and took the lead through Paul Wiper who used a reverse stick to make it 2-1. And before the break. Windler scored his second of the game to give Slazenger a two-goal cushion.
But in the second half, Gateshead pulled themselves back into the match and then delivered two late knockout blows that condemned Slazenger to defeat.
Slazenger will remain in NHL East Division two next season
