A second half four-goal blitz from Yorkshire League Division 6 leaders Leeds University Thirds put paid to Slazenger Thirds’ hopes of a shock win as the Wakefield-based side were beaten 4-0
Slazenger matched the students in the first half thanks to some great goal keeping from Ricki Wilby and a determined team performance.
They kept the visitors out in the first half and might even have taken the lead themselves through a number of breakaways lead by Jonathan Clewlow and Andy Birkett.

Over the next three weeks, Slazenger faced sides also struggling close to the relegation zone and these games could prove vital in deciding their league fate.
This Saturday, they travel to Huddersfield Thirds
