Report: 30-01-2000 – Ladies 1st’s (7) vs (1) Bingley

January 30, 2000 by Slazenger HC

Slazenger Ladies went seven-up against Bingley in their Yorkshire Cup clash triumphing 7-1.

They enjoyed a devastating first ten minutes, taking a 3-0 lead, courtesy of Lindsay Harvey, Julie Bear and Sue Swinden.

A defensive lapese let in Bingley for a goal after the break, but Slazenger soon upped the pace with further goals added before the final whistle by Lisa Dransfield, Becky Stafford, Caroline Wakenshaw and
Harvey.

The side also enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win in their derby clash with rivals Wakefield Wanderers, which maintains their lead at the top of Yorkshire LEague Division Two.

Slazenger went in 2-0 up at the interval, thanks to strikes by Julie Bear and Holly Tyers with player-of-the-match Lindsay Harvey crowning a super display with a cracking third after the break.
