Slazenger Hockey Club celebrated a remarkable feat last Saturday when all seven teams, five man’s sides and two ladies, won their matches.
Slazenger’s clean sweep of victories represented their best weekend ever demonstrated just how far the club has pregressed in recent years.
The winning sequence was let off by the men’s first team who crushed the Yorkshire League Division 2 newcomrs and strugglers Driffield 5-0.
Their dominance of the division is such that they have now established a five point lead in the title race. Slazenger settled immediately and Kaye opened the scoring with a spectacular effort.
Relentless Slazenger pressure forced the first short corner of the game and Butel struck true. Simon Chamberlain claimed the third. Kaye bagged the fourth (his second) and Andy Forman topped off another polished performance
With goal number 5 after crashing the ball into the roof of the net. The polished nature of their performance means that they go into a testing away match against Airedale on Saturday full of confidence, push-back 3pm.
