Slazengers ladies 3's travelled to York for their match against a university side positioned third in the league. The first half saw a competitive game with both teams evenly matched and hard work in midfield and defence ensured that the young university team did not put themselves on the scoreboard. Slazenger u14 girls remained unbeaten again this weekend and secured promotion for a second tournament in succession. With a half time score of 1:1, the girls came out determined. A shot from Gabby Giggle put them back ahead before a well executed short corner routine gave katie Minchella her 2nd goal. Slazengers under-tens won the latest Yorkshire Youth Hockey League tournament at Weetwood in Leeds – and went goal crazy in the process. Four games yielded 14 goals, with just three conceded, and produced three wins and a draw to leave the Slazengers lads top of Group A. They opened with a 3-0 victory over Airedale, with Will Gascoigne, Frazer Cass and Charlie Bland on target. Slazengers had a really positive first half battling and attacking well going into half time with a 2-0 lead.
