Slazengers Ladies first team made it a hat-trick of wins this week against Doncaster Ladies 2's. The surprisingly warm October weather made it a slow start, but Jessica Rudge scored the first goal thanks to some great team passing. Claire Dunstan was quick to follow with a strong hit to the bottom corner. Although 2-0 up at half time, the team were not stopping there. A Sunday fixture for Slazengers ladies 3s meant a home tie against Lincolnshire side Louth in the 1st round of the Yvonne Horner knockout cup. The first half saw both teams applying pressure in the opposition's half, but the Slazengers defence were impressive and stood firm. Goalkeeper Gemma Wilson made impressive saves, keeping Slazengers in the game time and time again and resulting in her earning the player of the match accolade. Slazengers Men's 2nd team entertained unbeaten league leaders Huddersfield Dragons 2'nds and came out with a resounding 5-0 victory. Slazengers started brightly and were determined to keep Huddersfield under pressure working hard across all areas of the pitch to deny Huddersfield time to settle. Slazengers 4s went with another young team to end their run of away trips at Brigg. In the first half Slaz fought hard but Brigg led 2-0 at the break after two breakaway goals. Slaz then continued to push and the second half was end to end but Brigg scored again to secure the win.
