ππ» SLAYED BY THE SPOOKY SPIRIT OF CHESTERFIELD! π»π
It was a Halloween horror show for the Slazengers 4s as they welcomed a terrifyingly strong Chesterfield side, who eventually ran out 4β1 winners in a match that turned into a real fright night! π¦
Slazengers started the game like a team possessed, striking early to take the lead and sending a shiver down the spines of their visitors. For a moment, it looked like Chesterfield might be in for a nightmare of their own!
But alas, the visitors soon began to unleash their dark powers, mounting wave after wave of attacks that threatened to haunt the Slazengers defence. Despite their best efforts, the relentless Chesterfield onslaught proved too much to contain, with four goals eventually condemning the 4s to a spooky defeat.
Credit must go to the entire Slazengers back line, who stood firm like fearless monster hunters against a seemingly endless army of attackers. They battled bravely, threw themselves into challenges and refused to let the occasion become a complete horror story.
π MAN OF THE MATCH: NATE ARMITAGE π
A special mention goes to Nate Armitage, who earned Man of the Match honours for his outstanding performance in the midst of the chaos. While the night may have belonged to the ghosts of Chesterfield, Nate certainly gave them a fright!
In the end, Slazengers were left picking up the pieces after a 4β1 defeat against a very strong Chesterfield outfit. The early promise was there, the fighting spirit never disappeared, and the back line battled until the final whistle.
π§ββοΈ Final verdict: A frightening afternoon for the Slazengers 4s, but there were plenty of positives to take away. Time to regroup, sharpen the stakes and make sure the next opponents are the ones having nightmares!
Match Report
Slazenger 4s made the trip to Chesterfield looking to build momentum, but faced a tough challenge against an organised Chesterfield 4s side who proved clinical in front of goal. The hosts started brightly and took the lead in the early on, capitalising on sustained pressure to find the back of the net from open play. Chesterfield continued to press and doubled their advantage again finishing neatly after working the ball through the Slazenger defence.
Slazenger responded well and began to settle into the game, moving the ball with more confidence through midfield. Their persistence paid off in the 28th minute, when a well-worked move resulted in a Slazenger forward finding space in the circle and slotting home to pull one back. However, the momentum was short-lived as Chesterfield struck again before halftime , restoring their two-goal cushion. Just after halftime the home side added another in the 40th minute, leaving Slazenger with a mountain to climb going after the break.
The second half saw Slazenger trying to push higher up the pitch in search of a way back into the game, but Chesterfield were able to punish the gaps left behind, adding their fifth goal in the 50th minute.
To their credit, Slazenger continued to battle and refused to let their heads drop. Their efforts were rewarded late on when they grabbed a second goal in the 70th minute, finishing off a positive attacking move to give the travelling side something to build on. Despite the final score line not going Slazenger'sβ way, the team showed resilience throughout and will take the positives from their attacking play and determination as they look ahead to their next fixture.

Slaz continued the second half how they finished the first with 2 more quick goals early in the half (Birkett grabbing a second, and Sykes finishing his hat-trick).
