Jubilant Slazenger Veterans knocked neighbours Wakefield out of the Yorkshire Veterans Cup following an entertaining 7-4 encounter that left Ian Gordon and Keith Whittle with hat-tricks and the crowd gasping for more. A home victory looked far from being the case in the first half as Wakefield enjoyed the better play and missed several chances before opening the scoring. A young Slazenger U10's side has mixed fortunes in their first ever tournament. They were edged out 1-0 by Wakefield, drew 0-0 with Adel then lost through tiredness to Bradford. Impressibe were Chris Wood, Jack Mumford, brothers Luke and Jordan Bell, and Elaine Dean.
