Slazenger 5's faced tough opposition in Doncaster 7's but met the challenge with lots of spirit and hard work. Doncaster started the game more quickly and looked a well disciplined side, battling well in midfield and using their young, skilful players up front to great effect. Slazenger's mens 4th's played their first ever league fixture this weekend against Boston Spa 4th's. The team played well but were beaten by the combination of experience and teamwork; signs of a well established team. The game started promisingly for Slazenger. Slaz 3's maintained the momentum which had begun with last weeks 3-0 win at L.A. Carnegie, with an incredible 7-0 demolition of Brigg 4th's. The team were again without Captain Andy Fisher, still recovering with a broken hand, along with several other key players. Slaz were under pressure from the start with Rotherham closing down the slaz defence. With the use of the new rule slaz were able to release the slaz attackers with the ball fired over the top of the Rotherham high press.
