Slazenger fifths made a bright start at Acomb thirds but eventually succumbed 5-3. Simon Randall put Slazenger in front, but the visitors conceded a soft goal and Acomb scored twice more before 'half-time to seemingly take control. Slazenger thirds had a great first half against quality opposition in Leeds University thirds. But the Student's superior fitness paid off in the end as Leeds ran out 6-2 victors. Martin Lofthouse fired home the opening goal, but Leeds scored a dubious equaliser before half-time. Mark Butel blazed the hat-trick trail as Slazenger left Division 1 rivals Chapeltown without a prayer. Butel opened the scoring with a penalty stroke in the first five minutes.
