Dominant Slazenger return to winning ways with a convincing victory at Bradford. Slazenger always looked the stronger team and they took the lead through man of the match James Swinden who produced a reverse-stick following a slick build-up. Slazenger Thirds edged out Chapeltown Thirds 3-2 in an exciting and competitive clash. Slazenger took an early lead through Richard Hutchins but chapeltown leveled before half-time. Slazenger were on the back-foot in Sheffield early doors but they found their feet to shuffle to a 4-2 victory in the Steel City. They went behind as early as the 10th minute but owing to some excellent defensive work from man of the match Chris Rodgers, Tony Walker and the Whawell twins, Slazenger survived to half time without conceding further goals. A late goal two minutes into added time secured all three points for Slazenger. Both sides played some good hockey throughout this battle, with both sides strong in midfield. Slaz absorbed some early pressure with Ben Rhydding going close on two occasions following a series of short corners. Keeper Keith Hellem helped keep the visitors at bay.
