Slazengers' first home game of season did not get off to a good start. By half time they where 3 nil down,with a penalty flick being conceeded within 5 minutes of the game starting. With 10 minutes to go the team were still losing 4 -1. However, the team rallied and their never say die attitude brought them back into the game, netting 3 times in the last 10 minutes. Mens 4ths travelled away to Doncaster for the late slot against the hosts' 6th string. A renewed team worked well, finding their rhythm quickly and pressing the home team. Jake Barras netted a hattrick, with James Walker taking a brace. This was followed up by further goals from Andy Fisher, Matt Banks and Harry Gunning. Slazengers 4ths played Halifax 4's on Saturday in a nail biting match. It started well for slaz with a goal from Steve Johnson giving them a 1-0 lead and providing them with the confidence they needed to make it to the end of the 1st half on top. With a shortage of keepers, Dan Perry donned the pads for the first time ever, to keep for the Mens 4's. Slaz maintained some strong pressure from the start, but were unable to capitalise on some strong midfield control. Slazenger mens 4th’s travelled to away Harrogate for their most recent game. A strong team performance saw them run out 3-0 victors. Some solid team play gave Slaz the upper hand, and it was only a matter of time before the goals were scored.
