Slazenger thirds were given a hockey lesson by Leeds University third who won comfortable 8-1. Slazenger were 3-0 down at half time, but rallied after the break for Gavin Kaye and Anwar Al-Khaili to supply Andy Birkett with a ferociously hit goal. The Slazenger club's dissapointment continued apace with a 5-1 reversal for Slazenger thirds at the hands of Adel fourths. Slazenger thirds warmed up for their league opener against Adel thirds with a 6-1 reversal at the hands of Adel thirds on Saturday. Never has the phrase 'open game' been so apt and never have Slazenger Thirds scored six goals and lost the match as they did following their 14 goal thriller with Bradford thirds. Slazenger raced into a two-goal lead only to conceded two, then as the game settled down Bradford introduced two players from higher teams who made all the difference.
