Slazenger Ladies 2nds recieved a boost to their promotion campaign, with a 5-0 victory at Driffield. After an 11-0 victory earlier in the year, the visitors were looking for more of the same. Alnwick left a frosty Northumberland at 7.30am, so an early pitch inspection was required. Steve Wood pronounced the pitch playable at 8.15am to the complete shock of the Slaz captain who from her duvet viewed a totally white landscape (and wanted to stay there). Slazengers Ladies 2nds continue their fight for promotion, with an important win which keeps them in contention. 2nd place in the league is now contested by Slaz and 3 other teams, with only 1 point seperating them all. Slaz had a steady start to the game, though came through with a 3-0 win. Daisy Gee-Sanders scored the opener, with Sue Hope securing a brace to wrap up proceedings. Slaz ladies 3rds returned to the pitch after a week away due to frost. However, they were quick to get back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over the Otliensians 2nds'. The ladies 1st team travelled to a very windy Don Valley for the 1st game of the New Year. Slaz had a score to settle after being held by Don Valley to a 2-2 draw in our first game of the season.
