The Ladies development team played their first home game of this season against City of York 6. With the lots of support both on and off the field for the Slazenger’s youngsters, the start was evenly matched with neither team taking control. Slaz were very happy to be re-united with the minibus for their trip to Driffield and hoped that they could soon erase last weeks' disaster from their minds with a convincing win. Slaz were unlucky to come away with a loss, after enjoying the lions share of attacking opportunities in an open game at the Southfield's pitch. The team worked hard, though struggled to achieve dominance in midfield. With such openness, the defence had to put in a big performance. This exciting game of hockey was a spectacle to watch with end to end chances! Slaz got the first break with a magnificent Claire Dunstan run through the middle, only for the shot to go wide. Brigg then caught slaz on the break and obtained a penalty corner which they converted 1-0 brigg. Slaz kept the heads up and after many attempts on goal, slaz won a PC. After last week's great result Slaz went into the game with high hopes. A strong Chapeltown side were made to defend hard for the first part of the game and the home team were very unlucky not to score in several 1 on 1 attempts.
