Slaz won a hard fought game against Ben Rhydding 2-1. The home team were quick to attack, scoring first from captain and birthday girl Gemma Whittam. However, Ben Rhydding fought back into the game, winning a short corner. This was converted to draw the game level. In their second game of the season, Slazenger’s ladies 3rd team enjoyed a significant victory, preparing them selves for what we hope will be a highly successful season. The new look Slazenger's ladies 3rd team got their season off to a start with debuts from 4 players against Lincoln Roses 1st's. The match promised to be a tough encounter with Lincoln topping the group last season. Slazenger's made a promising start with some good work in the midfield. Slazenger's ladies 3rds last game of the season ended in triumph as they bagged 6 goals in a thrilling tie against city of York 5. Gemma Whittam was again first to open their account, scoring from close range and Katie Browne soon following and netting a goal. Slaz ladies 3rd team put in an excellent team performance to reign triumphant over Thirsk. Slaz demonstrated some excellent skills and field player with debutant Alice Gasgoine making an immediate impact, though it fell to Captain Gemma Whittam to slot home the opener.
