Saturday 13th May 2017 The season is coming to a close, and the BBQ will be upon us soon! The end of season BBQ is our way or wrapping up the year. There is hockey in the morning, with the fantastic juniors taking on the lucky parent volunteers, followed by the big BBQ, awards, certificates and goodies! 2016-17 Season – League Week 17 (28-01-17)
Mens 1st's (6) vs. (3) City of York 3rd's Post Christmas break the men’s first eleven have only managed 40 mins of hockey. after injury forced last weeks game to finish early. But frozen pitches and injured opposition were to hold us back no more, a triumphant return to January hockey saw the men’s firsts defeat York 3 – 6 and continue the push for promotion. Mens 2nd's (4) vs. (1) Chapeltown 2nd's Slazenger took a renewed optimism to Chapeltown after narrowly missing out on the full 3 points the previous week and were rewarded with a 4-1 win. The team started well, with some aggressive hockey, finding Chapeltown on the back foot. Mens 1st's - No Game Mens 2nd's (3) vs. (3) Huddersfield dragons 2nds. Slazengers mens 2nd team returned from their Christmas break at home to Huddersfield on Saturday with the final score in an entertaining game being 3-3. Junior Section U12 Training Update
Over the last few months we have been reviewing our current training provision, attendance numbers and how best to provide provide a strong foundation to develop the section. Historically, we have used Sunday for the majority of training.
