The girls u14 team had a great morning of hockey at Leeds Grammar school, despite the weather!! Their first game saw them take an early lead against Brigg. Their goal was soon cancelled out when Brigg broke through the defence to equalise, however Slazenger never gave up and managed a further 2 goals to leave the final score 3:1. The under 14 girls played some great hockey in this weekends tournament at Darton College. A brilliant end to end game against Rotherham saw the girls leading 1:0 for most part, thanks to a well worked goal finished off by Leah Pearman and great work from Goal keeper Eleanor Cramp (on her debut). Report: 11-10-2015 – Girls U12 Tournament
First games of a new season with 2 teams who have not played together before had mixed fortunes 1st team won promotion with a 3-0 win against Huddersfield: Lily Gilbert 2 and Ashleigh Jones 1 scored the goals. A 0-0 draw followed with Adel, followed by 1.1 draw with selby. The final games was a 2 .0 win over selby, with a brace from Georgia Field. Slazenger u14 girls remained unbeaten again this weekend and secured promotion for a second tournament in succession. With a half time score of 1:1, the girls came out determined. A shot from Gabby Giggle put them back ahead before a well executed short corner routine gave katie Minchella her 2nd goal. Report: 09-12-2012 – Girls U12’s Tournament
The 3rd tournament of the season was held last weekend and saw the girls putting in some great performances to finish top of their league. They were beaten only by Thirsk in a very close match with a final score of 3:2, but in all their other games came out on top. They will now progress to league D, and hopefully with a higher standard of opposition we will see them up their game even further.
