With a limited squad of only 10 players, the ladies 4's confronted a youthful Chapeltown 3rd's. Unfortunately, the team were run out 4-0, however the scoreline does not tell the whole story. The team fought well, with large stretches of play, however they were unable to convert the possession into goals. First games of a new season with 2 teams who have not played together before had mixed fortunes 1st team won promotion with a 3-0 win against Huddersfield: Lily Gilbert 2 and Ashleigh Jones 1 scored the goals. A 0-0 draw followed with Adel, followed by 1.1 draw with selby. The final games was a 2 .0 win over selby, with a brace from Georgia Field. Slazengers hosted Wakefield 3rds for a derby game witch was played with intensity through out. Slazengers were the team to break the dead lock after 10 mins from a short corner witch was scored by Richard Tuddenham. Wakefield had some lengthy possession this resulted in a goal that came from a break down the right hand side and a clinical finish, which Slazengers responded to with 2 short corners goals before half time to go in 3-1 up. Slazengers mens 2nd team suffered their 2nd defeat in 3 games at the hands of a good Wakefield side eventually losing out 3-2. Slazengers started brightly and arguably their best move of the game was their first, strong play down the right resulted in Jake Barras picking the ball up at the top of the 'D'. Slaz 4s played their first local derby of the season against Wakefield 7th's. The early encounters were close with chances coming for both side until Wakefield scored from a short corner to lead 1-0. Then the opponents struck again from a short to double their advantage. Then Slaz struck just before half time to narrow the deficit through John Sykes.
