The social mixed 7's hockey competition is back this summer, starting earlier in the offseason than usual. The competition will be on Wednesday nights between 28th April May and the 9th June inclusive, only £3 per week. Its open to all those old enough to play senior hockey (13 and older); new players, returning players, friends of the club and regular members are all welcome. We are able to return to the pitch for training and matches. League fixtures have been cancelled until the start of the 2021 season in September. However, there will be training and summer activities over the coming months. After a month off, we are able to return to the pitch starting today (Wednesday) for training and matches. We are awaiting confirmation from Yorkshire and North Hockey whether we will be able to play league games, or if these are limited to friendlies. As you may be aware, our lengthy sponsorship deal with YCE Ltd came to the end recently after 7 years. You may also have realised that Grays are stopping production of the kit we have used for the past 4 seasons. On Friday 07 August 2020, England Hockey announced the move to Stage 4, the return of competitive activity but not yet the return of competitive leagues. This allows us to train (in groups up to 30), play intra-club 7’s and friendly games at a local level in preparation for the return of league hockey (Stage 5).  We are working on the principal that league hockey for juniors and seniors will be returning as soon.
