Slazenger men's 3rd's hosted league high flyers Brigg 4th's at home, succeeding at holding them to a goalless draw. After putting 2 past Brigg to take a draw in the away leg, Slaz were looking to improve and take the 3 points. However, the task was easier said than done. Slazenger's ladies 3rd team battled hard against high flying Lincoln (University( Roses, to no avail. The newcomers to the Yorkshire leagues were fast paced and skillful, but slaz stood firm for 20 mins, playing with three at the back. The team worked hard for each other but the deadlock was eventually broken by Lincoln as the pressure proved too much, and the defences were broken. Slazenger Ladies 2nds recieved a boost to their promotion campaign, with a 5-0 victory at Driffield. After an 11-0 victory earlier in the year, the visitors were looking for more of the same. Slazenger's dominated play, with extended periods of play within the opposition half forcing Driffield to defend. However, the home side were unable to halt the Slaz attack, with 3 goals netted in the first half. Alnwick left a frosty Northumberland at 7.30am, so an early pitch inspection was required. Steve Wood pronounced the pitch playable at 8.15am to the complete shock of the Slaz captain who from her duvet viewed a totally white landscape (and wanted to stay there).
