A double header of hard away games was on the menu for Slaz this weekend. After being soundly beaten by Boston Spa at home, Slaz were not expecting an easy ride and losing key player Katie Firth within the first few minutes of the game did not help their cause. With Kazza B, Daisy, Andrea and a few other regular second teamers unable to play the seconds struggled to get a full team for the match on Saturday, however, with the help from some other Slazenger players they managed to get a full team with no subs. Slazengers 3rds battled hard and were unlucky to come away without any points. Slazengers battled hard from the beginning and with some key players missing, people stepped into different roles with confidence. Slazengers 1st have not beaten Normanby Park in many years. Today however Slazenger were on the back of not losing a game this year. Both teams were off to a fast pace and tried to tire the other side out by moving the ball round the back. Both sides had strong midfields that looked like they could turn the game. Due to bad weather this was slaz's first match in a month and it could've been a tough one but Slaz managed to start brightly and took the game to Doncaster. Slaz took an early lead through Ben Graham and thois seemed to wake Doncaster up as they started to play the better hockey.
