Match Report
Slazenger’s 3rd men’s team travelled to Huddersfield for their first game of the New Year and were met with a stern test. A slow start from Slaz saw Huddersfield Dragons score 3 early goals and it left the Slaz team with a mountain to climb for the rest of the game.
Slazenger worked hard to get back in the game as the first half went on however they could not capitalise on any of the chances and Slaz went into half time 3-0 down.
There was plenty of positives to take into the second half as Slaz tried to establish a foothold in the game. However a fourth Huddersfield goal put the game beyond Slaz’s reach. A Man of the March performance of goalkeeper Aidan Coughtrey and a goal line clearance of Mark Swallow kept the score line respectable. A clean shot on goal saw Jack Kitchen score a consolation goal for Slaz but it was too little too late as they slipped to a 4-1 defeat.
Squad: P. Gunning, D. Ryan Smith, J. Sykes
