Slaz travelled to Thirsk this week in the windy conditions! For once slaz was straight on it from push back and were adamant that this would be their game. Following some quick one two passes Slaz found themselves immediately in the oppositions 25 with a few early shots on goal Slaz got their eye for the game. Slaz found the back of the net early from a great team play starting from the back with a lovely ball from Stacey to Laura with a dummy shot on goal but Mia was on hand to put the ball in the back of the net. With Slaz’s early goal the motivation of the team was high and slaz continued to pressure Thirsk throughout the first half. Following a positive half time talk Slaz came into the second half strong but as did Thirsk as they were not feeling defeated and came out with a renewed energy, pressuring the slaz defence who held strong. Thirsk had a quick break that caught slaz off guard and saw a one on one with Tracy who saved the initial shot but unfortunately Slaz were unfortunate as the rebound off a Thirsk foot ended up in the goal. Not disheartened by the goal Slaz’a motivation shone through and still hungry for a win Slaz picked up the pace. Following a series of short corners and attempts on goal, Laura got Slaz’s 2nd goal from a straight strike short corner helped in by a Thirsk player. Slaz finally got the win they deserved with Mia Davis getting player of the match.
