It’s come around to that time of the year again, when the Junior season starts up. This email is aimed at giving you some information about the new season.
Before I begin however, it is worth noting that this club runs because of the generous time and effort of many parents and players, much of which go unseen. However, in order to keep the club running, we need new people to volunteer every season, whether its assisting a little at training, or contributing to all the many jobs away from the pitch. Without these contributions, there is always the chance that the club will be unable to accommodate as many players, or offer the range of opportunities it currently does. So if you have some time to volunteer no matter how much, please talk to a coach or member of the committee.
Membership
Membership costs have been simplified this season, meaning that membership for any under 18’s player will cost £30. We have also applied a flat £200 cap for those who have multiple playing parents and children. Please remember that all Under 18 players will be required to complete a new membership form along with payment. For all returning players, we ask that you complete membership forms and payment as soon as possible, as it really helps us to run the section. There will be extra people on hand for the first three weekends of the season to help with any forms, membership, kit, training and any other questions you may have.
Code of Conduct
As part of changes for the 2016-17 season, it will be a requirement for all junior players and parent/guardian to sign the new code of conduct as part of registration; a common practice in other sports. We believe that this helps everyone understand their responsibilities as members of the club, and helps us to continue to develop players and the section.
Training
While training continues to be under review, this season will continue the same as last season (beginning on Sunday 4th September). After the success of last season, we will continue to run an under 8’s training session, with the lower age limit being 6 years old. For anyone younger, please get in contact with me to discuss. We have also agreed that in order to accommodate more younger players, all children attending the first session every Sunday morning (Under 8 & 10’s) will require a parent or nominated parent (ie a friends parent) present throughout the session.
- Under 8’s – Sunday (9:15am – 10:30am)
- Under 10’s – Sunday (9:15am – 10:30am)
- Under 12’s – Sunday (10:30-11:30am)
- Under 14 & 16’s – Monday (8-9pm)
Kit
After 3 seasons, we are changing shirts with a new sponsor. Yorkshire Catering Equipment Ltd (yce.co.uk) are sponsoring the entire club, allowing us to maintain shirt prices at £10 each. The new shirts can be purchased from the beginning of the season, with sample sizes available to try at training sessions.
New players
As the season begins we are looking for new players to join the club. As usual, new players get 3 free sessions to give it a go, and we can provide sticks. So if you know someone, why not recommend they come down and try it out!
I hope this provides you with the information you need to start the season in full swing. Thank you for your continued support, and we’ll see you at the club!
Many Thanks

Hi Harvey,
The junior season starts this Sunday (4th September) – your daughter’s sessions will be the U10 age group from 9:30-10:30. If you can aim to arrive around 15 minutes early that would be appreciated.
Thanks
