The under 14 girls played some great hockey in this weekends tournament at Darton College.
A brilliant end to end game against Rotherham saw the girls leading 1:0 for most part, thanks to a well worked goal finished off by Leah Pearman and great work from Goal keeper Eleanor Cramp (on her debut). A short corner against the team was converted in the closing minutes seeing Rotherham equalise – final score 1:1
In a tough second game against Leeds, Georgia Field put Slazengers ahead. With Abigail Collins dominating the midfield, and support from the back 3 – Sophie Fallas, Ashleigh Jones and Mollie Gilbert the opposition were unable to draw level. Final score 1:0
Slazengers dominated their final game against Huddersfield Dragons and managed to find the back of the net 8 times, Lily Gilbert was a driving force down the right hand side and Jess……..settled into the team well. With goals from Mollie Gilbert (3), Katie Minchella (3), Leah Pearman and Emily Hunter, final score 8:0.
Unfortunately, despite the high goal tally, promotion was denied on goal difference – this is now the aim for the next tournament at the end of November.
