Slaz ladies 3rd’s took on Colne Valley and dominated from start to finish. With some excellent work from midfield Slazenger’s had early chances but couldn’t break the deadlock.
10 mins into the first half, Gemma whittam was lethal at the back post and fired home the first. The game was one sided with Colne Valley struggling to break the defensive lines. Slaz then found themselves in the D yet again and a top of the D strike saw Linda Stacey fire home to go two nil up.
After half time, Slaz continued in the same vein! The onslaught began with Linda Stacey smashing the backboard again for her 2nd. Slaz continued to work well as a team and Colne Valley did not test the keeper. Linda Stacey then fired home for her hatrick, 4-0 Slaz.
Home debutant Louise Nock then took the ball down the right wing, along the bi-line and smashed the ball vertically into the top corner! It was a magnificent goal that would be worthy of an England call up!
The crowd went crazy and slazenger’s finished on a high 5-0 final score. Player of the game went to Louise Nock for her stunning goal however Linda Stacey was an unlucky runner up after polishing off her hatrick.
Amazing start to 2013 for ladies 3rd’s
