Report: 28-01-2012 – Ladies 3rd’s (0) vs (4) Lincoln Roses 1st’s

January 31, 2012 by Slazenger HC

Slazenger’s ladies 3rd team battled hard against high flying Lincoln (University( Roses, to no avail.

The newcomers to the Yorkshire leagues were fast paced and skillful, but slaz stood firm for 20 mins, playing with three at the back. The team worked hard for each other but the deadlock was eventually broken by Lincoln as the pressure proved too much, and the defences were broken.

Keeper Chloe Bates made some excellent saves and the midfield worked tirelessly to get back into the game. Hannah field (Slazenger’s man of the match) moved out of position, commanded the midfield and worked hard.

The forwards could not convert the few chances they had and the final score was 4-0, but an enjoyable game of hockey and many positives can be taken from the encounter.
